The Secretariat Center, located in Lexington, KY, at the Kentucky Horse Park, is an amazing program! Check out their website for more information. Did you know that on average, they help around 50 retired racehorses find new careers and new homes each year! Each horse gets training and spends time in the program so they can get the best possible match with an owner who can continue their education.
As part of my business I try to give back to the community and I’m happy to share some images I captured to help the Secretariat Center with their social media and marketing.
While I normally shoot in the evenings just before sunset, these images were taken in the afternoon with harsh light but luckily we were able to find a little shade!
This is Kelly and Husky. Husky joined the program YESTERDAY. He is so chill and completely unfazed by anything! Apparently, he walked off the trailer that way. What a great mind! Husky is 3 but won’t be available for a few months as he gets settled and starts his training. Doesn’t he have the cutest face?!
Looking for a new horse? Don’t forget to consider a retired racehorse. The Secretariat Center does a wonderful job helping these horses find new homes. Anyone who adopts a horse in 2021 will get a gift voucher for a photoshoot with Molly Evely Photography!
If you’re interested in having portraits taken with your horse I’d love to have a chat and plan a custom session just for you! Contact me here to get started.
