You are a part of your horse’s story and we can’t wait to help you tell it through your images.
Imagine having a day dedicated to celebrating you and your horse. You’ll set aside the whole day and have a beautiful, special time together. As a professional horse photographer we specialize in relationship portraits and equine branding images for your small business.
Custom Equine Photography Session Types
There’s a perfect sessions for you, or the horse crazy person in your life! We’ll capture your special relationship so that you’ll have these memories forever.
Video can be included in your photoshoot!
Horse and Rider Portrait Sessions
The horse and rider relationship sessions will showcase your special bond and highlight your horse’s sweet temperament. We can take pictures in long flowy dresses or show clothes- the more variety the better! We can even include some riding images too!
As always, there is no time limit! Feel free to include your dog, husband, wife, partner or kids. The more the merrier!
Fine Art Black and White Background
These sessions take place in a barn aisle or arena opening and typically last less than 1 hour. These session will work even if your horse has a black coat! I can also combine multiple subjects into one image so feel free to include all of your horses!
High School and College Senior Equine Sessions
For the high school or college senior who loves her horse.
These session are very customizable! We can capture you with your horse, include black background images, riding images, and of course individual images!
These sessions include 3-5 wardrobe changes. I have a pop up tent that we can bring on location that you can change in!
Frequently Asked Questions
What if my farm isn't very pretty?
I can find pretty locations almost anywhere and have worked with a wide range of facilities. The most important thing for pretty images is good light!
Where do you travel?
Any location within a 1.5 hour radius from Lexington, KY is included in the session fee!
After that I add on my travel fee if the distance is drivable or an extended travel fee if I need to fly to you.
** If you get a friend to book a session the same weekend the travel fee is reduced! **
Why should you get senior pictures with your horse?
Senior year, whether high school or college, is such an incredible season full of memories that will leave a lasting impact on your heart: memories with friends, senior events, formals, finals, college night, campus visits and graduation.
It’s such an exciting time in your life and one day you’ll treasure these memories
I want to capture you in beautiful, natural photos that reflect your happiness!
What if it rains?
When we book your session we usually pick a couple of rain dates. This is KY and the weather changes quickly- so even if the weather is terrible in the morning we might have beautiful weather by the evening. I know a lot of work goes into getting your horse or pet picture ready so we try to make the call as early as we can.

Before For Your Session
General Outfit Rules:
- You can’t be too dressed up!
- Look for solid color items in soft colors that look good on you.
- Texture is great!
- Avoid loud, large prints.
- My favorite colors for clients to wear are cream, campaign, neutrals, blush, light blue, gray, navy, black and white.
Consider professional hair and makeup for yourself!
Bring a friend, your mom, or another horse person who can help you during the session and hold your horse while you change clothes.
Getting Ready For Your Session
Start with exercise
Next your horse needs a bath and good grooming.
Braids look stunning in white or black background images.
We’ll take pictures with your horse in their bridle so don’t forget to clean the bit! We can also take pictures in a leather halter and lead rope too.
Nylon halters are not recommended.
If you are having unicorn pictures taken I have floral garland and pink or white halters for ponies.
Your Session
Whether in a fairytale dress, sundress, smart casual attire or you’re dressed for a show I want these pictures to capture your style.
If you want bareback pictures make sure you practice prior to the session!
All sessions will begin two hours before sunset for the best light.
Schedule your hair cut, color or style about a week before the session.
Have a friend, or spouse, or partner who wants to come? Bring them along! Everything is more fun with friends
Your Ordering Appointment
You will have so much fun planning how you will enjoy these portraits! It’s like shopping for your home but with pictures of your animals!!
There is no minimum amount required!
Most clients will:
- Pick their favorite image as wall art
- Put the rest in a stunning, layflat album.
You get digital files for every image you order in a product so you can show all your friends and family on social media!

The Portrait Process
1) Your Consultation
Let’s plan your outfits and go over poses that you’d like to incorporate in your session! I’m happy to come to your house or barn so I can meet your animals and we can starting planning the details.
2) Your Session
We’ll put your plan into action so we get some pictures of your animals that you’ll treasure forever! As always- there is no time limit. I’m there until we get those great images.
3) Your Viewing Appointment
About 2 weeks after your session we’ll meet again so you can see all your images and plan how you’d like to enjoy them! You get the high resolution digital file for every image you purchase.

You won’t know how valuable a picture is until it’s all you have left.

Average client investment varies depending on how many images are purchased. All images are high-resolution, print quality. Custom holiday cards, graduation announcements and gift prints can be added on to any portrait order.
$650 session fee is due at booking and includes:

The Fine Art Black Background Sessions are available with every portrait session or as a stand alone session.
The black background sessions are some of my favorites!!
We create these images in the barn aisle or opening to an indoor arena- so it’s usually a fun and low stress way to start a session.
These images are perfect for people who want to create stunning portraits that are truly a work of art! You can create large statement pieces or series of images. Then you can create an albums so you’ll have all these beautiful pieces of art that really tell the story of your horse’s personality!

How Does A Branding Session Work?
- 1) We will start off with a discovery call to go over your vision and the package options and decide what is right for your business.
- 2) $650 is due at booking. The remainder is due after your photoshoot when you pick your images, or payment plans can be set up.
- 3) You get a planning consultation with every package. At this meeting I’ll get a feel for your business and we’ll plan what images could help you the most. We’ll go over the locations and what we need for the shoot. You will leave knowing how to make sure your location is camera ready so you get the best images possible.
- 4) About 2-3 weeks after your photoshoot, you’ll get your professionally retouched high resolution, print quality digital images as well as web-sized digital files for social media delivered in an online gallery so you can use them right away.
- 5) Each package includes video clips for your website and social media!
What's Included In The Packages?
- Planning consultation which includes location and wardrobe prep.
- Photoshoots typically last 2-4 hours depending on the brand, but there’s no strict limit. Working with animals can be unpredictable.
- Image selection meeting. 2-3 weeks after your photoshoot, you’ll get to see all the images and pick your favorites for your business!
- Matching black and white, color, high resolution and web-sized files for each image selected, delivered in an online gallery for immediate use.
- All sessions include video clips!
- $650 deposit is required to hold your date. $500 will transfer as a credit to your package.
