Making Dog Treats

Bowl of homemade dog treats

It’s almost Valentine’s Day… what are you getting for your dog? It’s cold and gross out (at least where I live!) how about warming up your house with some homemade dog treats? Here’s the recipe I used and it was SUPER easy and my dog loves them!

Here’s what you need to make Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats:

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups wheat flour (I used all purpose because that’s what I had)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Mix everything together (I used my stand mixer). The dough was not too sticky but I put flour on my table and roller. Roll the dough to a 1/2 inch thick sheet and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes! I used a dog bone and hearts for Valentine’s Day. Place treats on a parchment lined cookie tray and bake for about 35-40 minutes or until hard. I baked mine for 35 minutes and they were pretty firm so I took them out and cooled them on a rack.

I hope you enjoy making some yummy treats for your fur baby!
